Foremost Foundation Supports Cancer Research
Starting in the fiscal year 2013, The Foremost Foundation has made multiple Founders Level gifts to support the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR)-Career Mentoring Sessions.
The AACR is the largest and oldest research organization in the world focused exclusively on developing and supporting cutting-edge, innovative cancer research and research professionals. Its mission is to “prevent and cure cancer through research, education, communication and collaboration.” AACR began in 1907 for the purpose of disseminating information about cancer and research outcomes.
Women in Cancer Research is a subgroup within the AACR dedicated to fostering the career advancement of women involved in cancer research. The Career Mentoring Sessions are exceptional and highly popular professional development sessions held in coordination with the AACR-WIC annual meeting. For Angela Chao it was especially gratifying that the Foundation’s gift would make it possible for many young women to attend the career mentoring sessions and thereby gain invaluable peer support and inspiration from the leading women in cancer research today.
